While many people are of the opinion that the spear point is a superior weapon, others disagree. This is not just my opinion; it is the opinion of many professional military tacticians, as well as others who have used both weapons and have fallen in love with them. The reality is that there are many factors to be considered when looking at spear point and drop point weaponry, and the winner is likely to be the one that works best for the individual using it. That being said, here are some of the main points to consider.
Drop Point Weapons – The truth is that drop point can be more accurate than spear point, especially at close range. However, they do lack the ability to inflict deadly wounds on an opponent, especially from a few feet away. At close range, drop point is better suited for poking and delivering a bit of pain through the target’s body. Spear point is more for scoring a kill and inflicting as much pain as possible.
Advantage: Dmg vs Point Spearpoint As previously stated, both types of weaponry can be effective. However, there are some important differences between the two. Drop point, especially when it comes to stopping the attacker, can often times be more effective when used against a person who has been trained to duck and Dodge. On the other hand, spear point is the better choice for dealing with multiple opponents, or when you need to inflict pain on the target without delay. So if you find yourself in a skirmish and need to quickly take down an opponent, the best choice may be a point weapon, but if you want to go toe to toe, drop point is your best bet.
